What You Can Expect as a New Client at Fisher Investments
When Fisher Investments begins a relationship with a client, we take the time to understand the full scope of a client’s financial situation and goals for their retirement. Only after we have an in-depth understanding of the details of a client’s financial situation do we make a portfolio recommendation for them.

What to Expect as a New Client
FISHER INVESTMENTS AUSTRALIA®
Soft piano music plays.
A woman dressed in a grey sports blazer is featured. A fly-out in the lower left corner identifies her as Jill Hitchcock, Senior Executive Vice President, US Private Group.
The fly-out disappears. The camera remains focused on Jill Hitchcock, occasionally changing angle.
The music lowers in volume.
Jill Hitchcock: When a new client hires Fisher Investments and joins our private client group, they can expect a very in-depth process of learning about their full financial situation.
Jill Hitchcock (continues): They'll meet their Investment Counsellor, who typically has anywhere from 5 to 30 years of industry experience. And their Investment Counsellor will work closely with them to understand the full scope of their financial situation, as well as what they need these assets to achieve over what period of time?
We're going to start off by helping them set up an account at one of our custodians. These are big, well-known firms such as Charles Schwab or Fidelity or UBS. And in fact, one of the key elements that a potential client should look for when they're looking for an investment advisor is the separation of money management and custody. We don't ever take custody of assets. So, we're going to help the client set up that account and we're going to go through an extensive process learning and understanding a client's full personal and financial situation in order to make an asset allocation recommendation for them. We're going to go through that recommendation with them in detail, explaining exactly what we're going to do and how we think that gives them the highest likelihood of achieving their goals. And only when the client is comfortable with that recommended approach will we actually move forward with the implementation of their new portfolio.
